The City of Tokaj is the guardian of a centuries-long wine-making tradition, a special architectural heritage as well as a number of local traditions. Located in Tarcal and recommended by the Michelin Guide, Bobajka Restaurant and Café represents an approach respecting local values but still being progressive. This is also demonstrated by the name Bobajka, which is the Zemplén version of the Hungarian poppy seed bread pudding, being a more than 300-year-old recipe.

The raw materials to be used in the restaurant are purchased from local producers, and the wines to be served also come from the best local wineries. The continuously expanding wine list consisting of Tokaj wines exclusively, 120 items currently, contains the drinks of renowned wine producers as well as those of smaller emerging wineries. Accordingly, the guests can see a comprehensive picture of the Tokaj wine region when visiting Bobajka restaurant.

Pairing the excellent wines with the courses is ensured by Tamás Langó, the Michelin Sommelier Award-winning Executive Sommelier of BDPST Group. The guests can taste the classic Tokaj Furmint wine as well as other drinks, and, also, the cocktail menu offers the classic cocktails with a special Tokaj twist, hereby ensuring the experience of special refreshment.

Bobajka restaurant won the award in the category ‘restaurant of the year – enclosed guest area’ in the Klasszis TopDesign 2022 competition. Furthermore, it was listed as a recommended restaurant in the Michelin Guide Hungary edition of 2023 by the restaurant guide inspectors.
